As a spectacular finale of the 17th and 18th editions of the Belgrade Dance Festival, the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company will perform at the Opera Madlenianum on December 4th and 5th.
The great German state ensemble, with the premiere signed by the choreographer Jakopo Godani, was supposed to arrive in Belgrade in April of 2020. Unfortunately, the pandemic, closed theaters and later international protocols, managed to move this visit five times. In the meantime, the Sava Center was shut down, so the performance was moved to another theater. With the desire to meet the audience that has been keeping their tickets for this performance for two years, the organizers have agreed on two performances. Thus, the first date (December 4) is completely reserved for those who, at the end of 2019 or the beginning of 2020, procured and then saved tickets for the Sava Center. The second date has gathered a new audience, and will be sold out soon. The Visa company once again offered a 20% discount on tickets purchased on the Festivals website.
Last year, he Jovan Ćirilov Award for a step further was presented to Jakopo Godani at the National Museum. The award was given for the performance of his troupe at the 17th Belgrade Dance Festival, ie for the triptych works "Sublime Challenge", "Echoes of a Tireless Soul", "Unique Reaction". What makes Godani's manuscript completely special is the high level of aesthetic perfection and virtuoso dynamics. He is a choreographer who sculpts the most complex toy figures, beautiful features, into brilliant, unstoppable shapes. He perfects every step in pointed sneakers to the extreme body limits, while developing a sophisticated allusion to the geometry of the classic game from the modern mental framework ", it is stated in the explanation of the jury signed by its president Marija Janković.
